CAST and partners have concentrated on children and families. However, as the programme for children and young people has developed we have become better able to look at the needs of displaced Ukrainian adults. Many Ukrainians in the UK have relatives caught up in the fighting, have lost friends and relatives to rocket attacks or on the front line or have themselves come under rocket and artillery attack. Many have lost homes, been displaced, been mistreated, assaulted or persecuted.

We have always dealt with parents so we are acutely aware of the level of need amongst other adults. Now we are working with a local authority and other partners to try to develop a cost-effective, low-cost, parallel programme to the multi-agency children’s programme.

We are at the pilot stage at the moment and will provide more detail once we have been able to make the necessary adjustments which are always needed on early-stage programmes.
