CAST is the Centre for Anxiety, Stress and Trauma.

Our aim is to provide mental health and wellbeing solutions to organisations and communities, specialising in anxiety, stress and trauma recovery.

About CAST

CAST brings together and disseminates extensive expertise in the knowledge and treatment of mental health difficulties affecting individuals, organisations and communities. In particular, we want to develop, with partners, innovative ways of helping people affected by traumatic events like disasters, war and displacement as well as tragic incidents that occur in local communities or in the workplace.

CAST has significant experience in responding to major disasters (including the Grenfell Tower fire and the Ladbroke Grove Rail Crash), working with blue light services and public inquiries, and supporting forced migrants arriving in the UK as part of humanitarian programs (such as those following the fall of Kabul and the ongoing Ukrainian conflict). Additionally, CAST has worked with individual schools, hospitals, and employers in the aftermath of traumatic events such as stabbings, homicides, and suicides.

Our mission is to consolidate and share expertise in mental health treatment and support for those impacted by traumatic events, particularly disasters, war, and displacement. We are committed to developing cost-effective solutions to help affected individuals and communities, as well as supporting organisations in their efforts to respond to tragic events.

CAST started as part of the NHS to build on a large body of existing work to improve the care of people that experienced psychologically traumatic events. CAST left the Central and Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) in September 2024 and CNWL is no longer affiliated with or responsible for CAST services or employees in any way.
